DFA 2025 Winner
GreenDragon Lab — Mahjong Evolution Laboratory
Founded in 2024 by artist Qiong Yang, GreenDragon Lab is a speculative research laboratory reconstructing mahjong as a relic of Civilization DC4739. Its first specimen series, MONO.OX Molecular Mahjong, received the iF Design Award 2026 and the DFA Design for Asia Awards 2025 Grand Award.
The DC4739 civilization was discovered in reverse time.
A large number of mahjong-shaped fossils were unearthed.
GreenDragon Lab was established to study and reconstruct these findings.
MONO.OX Molecular Mahjong Set
MONO.OX Molecular Mahjong is a one-to-one reconstruction of mahjong fossils excavated from Civilization DC4739, recreated through advanced contemporary technology.
Through the Global Specimen Distribution Program, GreenDragon Lab shares its research data and provides observation-grade study samples to institutions and collaborators worldwide.
The global edition is strictly limited to 299 sets.

Under the title Report No. SH25-01, GreenDragon Lab presented its annual research at Design Shanghai 2025.
The exhibition featured the Lab’s first reconstructed mahjong prototype, MONO.OX, alongside two experimental sets currently in development, CL and Golden.
